Wow, what can I say, this was a really brilliant idea. All the maps and charts you get from different lectures compressed into one book-- AWESOME. In fact I'm using it right now to go through hemostasis. Love the format, love the blank pages for writing. Love everything about this book. Buy it and there will be no regrets!

Great for graduate school pathophysiology

I'm using this book for a MSN (nurse practitioner) pathophysiology course, and it's great! Common disorders are "mapped" in such a fashion as to make it convenient to understand the exact, straightforward mechanisms involved in a disease process. What typically takes several pages in a conventional pathophysiology text to explain about a disorder (e.g., DIC, hyperthyroidism, complement cascade, hypersensitivity reactions, etc.) is nicely depicted (i.e., mapped) on one page, which makes the format excellent for reviewing concepts and preparing for exams. The material in this book is not "watered down" either; the material is technical and the reader should have a solid understanding of normal physiology. (This book should be used in conjunction with other pathophysiology books.) I would not recommended this text for undergraduate students; however, it is a needed resource (and great investment) for graduate level work (NP programs) and definitely for medical students. You won't be disappointed, and the price is right too!

MedMaps helped take a lot of subjects and compressed each subject into one page.
I used the book and added information,like pharmacology and more pathology and then used it to review for exams.Its like making your own review book while your studying.
The format is easy to use with a note page and the material is perfect for second year med school.It is accurate and up to date.

This is not the main textbook, it is a bunch of sample problems. The photo is deceptive as it cuts off the bottom of the cover which states in yellow "companion to race car vehicle dynamics". You are probably looking for the main sae textbook so look elsewhere

Amazing book, and a must have for anyone interested in vehicle dynamics/simulation. My only gripe with the book is the variable descriptions in the first half of the book. They are listed on the first page of the book and described prior to each equation. Unfortunately their definitions get lost amongst the sea of sub/super scripts and reused variables. I also highly recommend buying the companion book for extra computational practice.

Outstanding engineering reference book with a good bit of background and historical perspective. Broad and detailed information which I've used to develop some outstanding street suspension systems to retrofit muscle cars. It is an engineering book, nowhere is there is a list of parts to buy for your car. The intent is to understand and balance the principles listed, and design your own.

The rarely told story of girls in Hitler Youth

The English title is slightly misleading in that the entire focus of this book is the League of German Girls. It makes clear the great attraction of the organization, one which leaves the participants with mixed feelings even today. Not only was the League a place for idealistic youth, it gave girls an opportunity unknown elsewhere in Nazi Germany to develop leadership skills. It offered poorer and rural girls opportunities for entertainment and travel they would have been unlikely to experience otherwise. It also served the Nazi goal of diminishing the influence of parents over their children. Even so, this book shows that participation and amount of political indoctrination could vary by locale. It is fortunate that this work was translated into English so that more readers can understand this important facet of Nazi history.

It was very dry, with some stories from individuals about what it was like for them growing up in that area. It had a lot of stats, and listed rules, and how they were covered. Not quite what I was looking for, but still interesting.

Old-school Wicca

This book showed me that there are two very different types of Wicca. Most of us are familiar with eclectic "make it up as you go" Wicca from authors like Silver Ravenwolf. Vivianne Crowley's book thoroughly describes the other style of "traditional wicca." This religion has specific roles, rules, and procedures, and Crowley explains the history and theory behind them all. Chances are you don't know much about this part of Wicca; I sure didn't! Do read it, because it will balance the "fluffyness" that is sometimes prevalent in eclectic Wicca books. It also gives a very good description of different types of magic and how they work. Do yourself a favor and buy this book, even if you have no intention of ever being in a Gardnerian/Alexandrian coven.

The complete source of witchcraft that you'll ever find

Unlike authors like Scott Cunningham who simply tell us to do stuff without telling us why or how, Ms. Crowley tells us of the inner meaning behind Wiccan rituals, aloowing us to create our own traditions. You will never find a book that is this detailed. But not detalined in the way that it's all a bunch of magickal jarjon, like most of Ray Buckland's books are. She has a degree is psychology and understands society and the human mind better than any other author our there. This is a no crap Wicca book. It's not a book that simpy say "witches do this" and "witches do that" over and over again. This, alog with "The Wiccan Mysteries" and "To Stir a Magick Cauldron" are the only three books out there that are really worth owning that deal spciffically with modern Wicca. If you're one of those candy coated 'pagans' who simply do spells all day long, avoid this book. IUt is only for serous students.

Als Teil der aktiven Assistenz gehe ich auf die Sexualbegleitung ISBB® in Trebel und die Prostitution gesondert ein.
Im zweiten Teil widme ich mich der Sexualität und ihren unterschiedlichen Aspekten. Dabei beschreibe ich den biologischen, soziosexuellen und psychosexuellen Aspekt, sowie die Entfaltung der Sexualität im zeitlichen und kulturellen Wandel.
Im dritten Teil stelle ich die besonderen Umstände dar, die für die Sexualität von MmB in dieser Gesellschaft und im Allgemeinen gelten (z.B. die erhöhte Missbrauchsgefahr). Dabei interessieren mich die gesellschaftlichen Vorurteile, deren Wirkung auf den Umgang mit Sexualität und Behinderung abstrahlt. Ich begegne der Frage, ob es ein „Recht auf Sexualität“ gibt und versuche Ansätze zu finden, warum gelebte Sexualität zwischen behinderten und nichtbehinderten Menschen kaum stattfindet(oder stattfinden darf?).

Der vierte Teil der Arbeit befasst sich größtenteils mit den Aussagen, die ich aus unterschiedlichen Quellen herausgearbeitet habe. Dazu interviewte ich zwei Sexualbegleiter in der Schweiz und zwei Sexualbegleiterinnen aus Deutschland. Des Weiteren besuchte ich einen sog. Erotikworkshop in Trebel, wo ich die Möglichkeit fand zwei männliche, körperbehinderte Kunden zur SB zu befragen. Auf einen Aufruf im Internet hin meldete sich ein junger Mann mit einer Körperbehinderung, der sich meinen Fragen schriftlich stellte. Seine Erfahrungen beziehen sich auf Treffen mit Prostituierten. Um darüber hinaus auch die sexuellen Möglichkeiten und Einschränkungen von MmB in einer Institution im Blick zu haben, sprach ich mit einer Mitarbeiterin des psychologischen Fachdienstes der Bruderhausdiakonie in Reutlingen.

So ergibt es sich, dass sich drei Perspektiven auf SB und Prostitution ergeben. Die der Kunden, die der Anbieter (wobei nur SBter interviewt wurden) und die Sichtweise einer Institution.
Im der Schlussbetrachtung und Ausblick, gleichzeitig fünften und letzten Teil der Arbeit versuche ich das gewonnene Wissen zusammenzufassen und in Verbindung zu bringen.
Dabei will zu einer Klärung der Frage kommen, welche Bedeutung käufliche, sexuelle Dienstleistungen im Leben eines MmB zukommen können und ob sie den Bedürfnissen der Menschen gerecht werden.

Bradley Cantrell is Principal of and Partner in Visual Logic Inc. and a founding partner in LND Digital Workshop, digital media training and consulting. He is also Assistant Professor, School of Landscape Architecture, Louisiana State University. Strong Book For Digital Workflow

Concise, well-written book that bridges the gap for new learners and more seasoned digital renderers. Cantrell and Michaels offer a fantastic overview of how to improve workflow speed and the finished product. Some underlying knowledge of the Adobe Suite is necessary, but will still be beneficial for those new to importing .pdfs from CAD to Photoshop, Illustrator,etc. Loads of helpful images, well-described how-to's, and tricks that will give your projects an extremely impressive look. Minor quibble, a couple of sections feel "rushed" toward the end as far as the steps. For instance, the collage section feels like it could have had a bit more detail and polish like some of the earlier sections. Again, minor, minor issue. Otherwise, go for it without regret. For Landscape Arch students, this is a must. Consider it the digital version of Grant Reid's Landscape Graphics.

Great Book!

Digital Drawing for Landscape Architecture gives you a good understanding of how to use a variety of programs in conjunction with each other. It gives good examples of what program to use for specific graphic presentations and does so in a very clear and concise way. Many of the techniques discussed can easily be applied to disciplines other than Landscape Architecture and I would highly recommend the book to anyone involved in creating digital graphic presentations for any of the design professions. I teach a course a course called "Integrated Computer Graphics" and I plan on using it for my main text. Well done!

LOVED it! Wonderful Regency Romance

Author Jennifer Moore is back after her debut, with a companion novel to Becoming Lady Lockwood. And, I must say her writing is even better than ever. I absolutely loved Lady Emma's Campaign. Set in Spain during the Regency Era Napoleonic Wars, it is the tale of a soldier experiencing PTSD after a grueling number of years on the battlefield, and his best friend's sister Emma. She is 17 and in her season with plenty of suitors, but her heart is set on Sidney Drake. She is determined to be seen as more than a sister figure or young girl, and to win his heart.
With fascinating descriptions of life in Spain during war time, life on the seas as a sailor, and the dull social preoccupation of London's scene, I was hooked. As a fan of historical fiction and clean romance, I must recommend you pick up Lady Emma's Campaign. I am so impressed with all the well-researched facts and the psychological effects of trauma that were built into the story line.
Highly recommend!

Unique Regency Novel

I recently read Jennifer Moore's debut novel (Becoming Lady Lockwood) and was surprised when I found this companion novel only a few weeks later! While I loved the first book, this one has several unique elements that made it a more engaging read.
The novel mostly takes place in Spain during the Napoleonic Wars. I loved this setting because I have read a lot of Regency fiction and it mostly focuses on England, France, and maybe the Caribbean. Moore's descriptions of Spain are breathtaking, both the beauty and the destruction.
The characters of this book are more developed than Moore's first novel. I really liked the internal struggles of the hero. He has been through a lot in the novel and has to come to terms with it. At first, the heroine bothered me because of her naïveté and short-sightedness. However she proves herself in the end. I liked accompanying them on their journey to see how they grew.
If you are super sensitive to violence, some scenes may be hard to read. However I believe their inclusion show the catalyst for much of the heroine's growth.
I loved this book because it shows a different side of Regency life, one away from the light and frivolity of the London season. Moore has another book out in February 2015 and I can't wait to read that one!

An AMAZING story!

I LOVE Jennifer Moore's books!
Regency romance taken out of the ton and put into the treacherous world...
Yet still having all the propriety that we love to read about.
A book that will hold your attention until the very end!

Emma has known for a while now that her heart belongs to her older brother's friend, Sidney.

But Sidney is setting sail and will not be back for a while.

So Emma has her season and starts to entertain other suitors.

However she compares everyone to Sidney and has now turned down many offers of marriage.

Then word comes that Sidney has been killed.

Heart-broken Emma doesn't know what to do...should she take the latest offer of marriage or would it be better to be a spinster; even as terrible as that would be?

News finally arrives that Sidney might not be dead, but is possibly being held captive.

So Emma starts out on a rescue mission.

She will sail the seas...traipse into a prison...travel across a battlefield... all while trying to maintain the dignity of being a lady.

She will show great courage as she helps treat the wounded, gathers orphans, endures threatening demise, and helps Sidney overcome the effect of war-time stress.

Will Sidney finally view Emma as a grown woman?

Or will she forever be...the little sister?

And to top it all off Sidney might be in possession of a coin from a Spanish treasure...
